Definition of Zero Carbon Homes and Non-Domestic Buildings: Consultation
17 December 2008Building a Greener Future: Policy Statement (2007) announced that all new homes will be zero carbon from 2016, and said that CLG would consult again on the detailed definition. Budget 2008 announced the government's ambition that all new non-domestic buildings should be zero carbon from 2019. This consultation proposes a definition of zero carbon new homes, based on high energy efficiency, on- or near-site carbon reduction, and allowable solutions for dealing with the remaining emissions.
