Local authority housing providers and ALMOs are taking a greater role in the delivery of new housing, including options to establish subsidiary housing companies to utilise land for development and/or redevelopment (without the restrictions of the subsidy system and Right to Buy) and relaxed qualification criteria for HCA programmes.

With new build 'back on the agenda' as a future option, we can provide advice and support such as:

  • General advice on the options for delivery vehicles and their financial and other implications, progress nationally and issues arising on scheme delivery elsewhere
  • Specific advice on the development of financial modelling to support the appraisal of schemes
  • Development of the modelling necessary to support a value for money judgement on proposals (particularly with reference to the alternative delivery options, eg, housing association, authority or developer direct)
  • Bespoke 30-year business plan modelling for those LAs and ALMOs that want to make this a growing part of their plans for the future.
